As a matter of fact, I've rarely heard it mentioned anywhere. That's why few Excel users ever use it. When you want to repeat the last action that you took, just select the range of cells where you want to repeat it an press F4. It's so simple but it can save you so much time. Like many other shortcuts in Excel, this one is also available in other Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Power Point).

"HOW TO EXCEL" MINI-TUTORIAL Top Cool Formatting In Four Clicks I'm sure you are aware that Excel allows you to format your worksheets with an almost endless assortment of fonts, colors, borders, and patterns. You probably have created spreadsheets where you spent more time on formatting than you did on the basic data input and formulas. Fortunately, Excel has a cool option when you want a great looking reports but don't have time to mess with all that formatting. And it only takes four clicks.
AutoFormat may not always be the answer to your formatting needs, especially with more complicated tables. But for basic data tables in Excel, AutoFormat can give you some pretty cool results in a flash.
