When you want to repeat the last action that you took, just select the range of cells where you want to repeat it an press F4. It's so simple but it can save you so much time.

Like many other shortcuts in Excel, this one is also available in other Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Power Point).

I'm sure you are aware that Excel allows you to format your worksheets with an almost endless assortment of fonts, colors, borders, and patterns. You probably have created spreadsheets where you spent more time on formatting than you did on the basic data input and formulas.

Fortunately, Excel has a cool option when you want a great looking reports but don't have time to mess with all that formatting. And it only takes four clicks.

1. Select a cell within the table you want to format
2. From the Format menu select AutoFormat...
3. Choose one of the predefined formats.
4. Click OK (If you don't like the result, click Edit, Undo (or CTRL+Z)and try again)

AutoFormat may not always be the answer to your formatting needs, especially with more complicated tables. But for basic data tables in Excel, AutoFormat can give you some pretty cool results in a flash.

There are tens of millions of other Microsoft Excel users all over the world. The vast majority of them have a very limited knowledge of Excel's capabilities. My goal is to share this information with everyone I possibly can and help them to benefit from Excel's amazing capabilities.

There are millions of web pages out there on almost every topic. Every time you do a search it seems to bring up thousands of results which are impossible to make sense of.

For better search results try some of these tips.

1. Use double quotes ( " ) around words that are part of a phrase.
2. Enter a plus sign ( + ) in front of words that must appear in your results.
3. Enter a minus sign ( - ) in front of words that must not appear in your results.
