Hi fellow Excel Addict,

In last Thursday's 'Excel in Minutes' newsletter, I showed you how to 'Create Your Own Personal MyLinks Page'. If you missed it you can
read it here.

If you have a favourite tip that you'd like to share, or a problem that you've been trying to solve, that I could possibly include in my newsletter, please send it along to me.

Wishing you an AWESOME week,
Francis Hayes (The Excel Addict)

Take a Shortcut Out of the Default Templates Folder

When you choose Excel Template (*.xltx) from the 'Save as type' dropdown in the Save As dialog, you are automatically redirected to the Office Templates folder even if you had previously chosen a different folder. This can be annoying when you often need to save templates to another folder.

Rather than waste time browsing back to that folder each time, try adding a shortcut in your Office Templates folder that you can simply double click to jump directly to your desired folder when needed.

I often make changes to my default BOOK and SHEET templates in my XLSTART folder. Every time I go to save them, I'm taken to the default Office Templates folder, so then I have to browse back to my XLSTART folder. By adding a shortcut to my XLSTART folder in the templates folder, I can just double click the shortcut and I'm back to my XLSTART folder instantly.
