Francis Hayes - TheExcelAddict.comToday (Tuesday) I had my last long training run (14km) before the Tely 10 race on Sunday. It was my longest run so far this year since coming back from my knee injury. I felt really good after my run so I'm hoping for a good run (16km/10mi) on Sunday. It will be my 4th Tely ever and the first in 3 years.

Today's Tip
If you use named ranges in your workbooks you may have workbooks with a large number of names and wished you could print a listing of those names.

Fortunately, there is an easy way to do this, although it is another one of Excel's well hidden tricks which I will show you in today's tip.

Print a List All Named Ranges in Your Workbook

Last week I received an email from Ryan who had inherited a huge workbook from a co-worker. There were a lot of named ranges in the workbook, so Ryan was wondering if there was a way he could print a listing of all the names and the cells they refer to, to help him better understand how the workbook was designed.

Fortunately, there is an easy way to do this, though it's another one of those well-hidden tricks in Excel that most users don't find.

Here's how...

1) Open a new sheet tab in the workbook containing the names;

2) From the Formulas tab, click the Use in Formula (not available if there are no named ranges). A menu with a list of names is displayed;

3) On the bottom of the menu there is a Paste Names... option. Click it and the Paste Name dialog appears;

4) Click the Paste List button and all of names in the workbook and their cell references will by listed in the worksheet.
